This is the story of how we designed a lehenga around one of our capes for one of our beautiful happy customer.
It was in a luxury lifestyle exhibition where we usually participate to interact with potential clients and get a first hand opinion on our designs. The capes we had designed were really being liked by the visitors and especially the young girls were buying those looking at the versatility of the capes as these could be worn over sarees, gowns, tops and practically anything you want to brighten up. This lovely young lady walked upto us and liked the cape instantly, guess, it was made for her! After trying out the cape for couple of minutes she requested if we could design something to wear with the cape as she needed to attend a wedding in five days.
The situation was very interesting and challenging, as we discovered that our dear client had been trying to shop for the perfect dress for more than a month now. May be it was the uniqueness of the situation prompted us to say yes and propose the design then and there which we promised to deliver in record 2 days, including sorting the material. The design proposed was of pleated box lehenge in golden with a crop top to match the cape. We would like to mention here that our client was really up for the adventure and placed her trust completely in us to even figure out the fabric for the dress.
The design we shared during the exhibition was :
And the next day we picked up the fabric to match the occasion, the weather and the style of our client. So we decided with pure brocade golden for skirt and pure silk for crop top. Somehow the material was not easily to be found and even the silk we matched with the cape needed an additional coat of colour to bring the desired effect. We were running out of time and we had to give a trial the next evening, which was approaching a bit a faster. Nonetheless, our dear client arrived at our studio the next day for the trial and was very easily pleased looking at the dress.
She promised that she will send us her picture in the dress, which we started calling ‘the cape lehenga’.
She was so pleased that she offered us to use the pic for one of our #happycustomer pics, which we ofcourse did. But, to do justice to the wonderful experience we had with the little cape and the lady, we thought to share the story with you, with of course the happy customer pic.
Looking forward to share more wonderful stories and experiences as we come across all the wonderful people in our journey…
